Jesus at the Center of it

As I was listening to this worship song at church, I quickly found myself evaluating if God was truly at the Center of it all and if I’m honest I still struggle at times trying to lead myself; I run ahead of him, or I lag behind and at times I allow life’s busy to crowd him out. When this happens, there is a big risk of making a mess of our lives; ask me I know by experience. I traded my relationship with God for a relationship with a guy, I put my career first, I started going to happy hour to shutting the bars down which led to total chaos in my life.  I write to you from a place of gratitude to be saved and put back together again, but it was a difficult and painful process as I walked on the broken pieces of my heart back to God.

I don’t want you to make the same mistakes I have; allow Jesus to be the center of your life in ALL things; school, career, relationships, sports, etc. Include him in all your decision-making processes, pray for wisdom in difficult circumstances instead of responding out of fear or emotion, and put him first above all else in your life.

Today, let this be the declaration of your life; Jesus lead my life, be the center of it all.

Scriptures to reflect:

1. Self-Guidance: Isaiah 5:21 NLT – Isaiah 5:21 “What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever.”

2. 50/50: 2 Chronicles 25:2 NLT – Amaziah did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight, but not wholeheartedly. (Note you can read the rest of the chapter – the outcome for Amaziah did not turn out well.)

3. Jesus, at the center of it all:

Jude 1:20-21 MSG – But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real-life!

Proverbs 3:5-12 MSG – Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life!

If you need prayer, please respond to the email and I will pray for you. Don’t let another minute go by without Jesus being Lord of your life.
