Who We Are
An historic Christian church on the campus of the University of Minnesota for over 37 years. Parent Church to 2 campus ministries at the University of Minnesota. Maranatha Christian Fellowship International Student Outreach Regular church services on Wed. and Sat. nights at 7PM Campus activities throughout the week.
What We Do
We are a historically creedal, Spirit filled church at the University of Minnesota formed specifically to outreach to students and international students as they study at the U. We are now in our 38th year. We have regular church activities on Wednesday and Saturday nights at 7 PM and campus events throughout the week.
We believe in a literal bible and young earth creation. We stand strong for historic biblical sexuality and are involved in pro-life work throughout the city. The heart of our church and ministry is our "Campus House" on sorority row housing up to 21 students at a time. A major component of our church is our International Student Outreach (ISO)
What We Believe
Statement of Faith
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. . .” Romans 1:16
- We believe in one God, revealed as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the absolute inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, given by the Holy Spirit without error, as He moved upon Holy men of old. Furthermore, we believe that the church has no authority to establish doctrine or practice anything contrary to these same scriptures.
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe that man was made in the image of God and is the crown of creation. He is, prior to salvation by reason of the fall, spiritually depraved and alienated from his creator.
- We believe that all of God’s people are to be buried and resurrected with water baptism following conversion.
- We believe in the priesthood of the believer. That is to say, all people born of God have equal status before, and direct access to, their Lord.
- We believe that baptism in the Holy Spirit is an endowment of power subsequent to conversion, given by God to anoint the believer for sanctification and evangelism. It is our understanding that the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit are active within the Body until the coming of the Lord. Furthermore, we believe the development of these gifts ought to be encouraged under the guidance of local church leadership.
